Facilitation Services - After the Assessment
|
Facilitation skills are needed to conduct several kinds of sessions related to the 360 feedback process. If your organization does not
have internal facilitators, we can facilitate these sessions for you.
Facilitation of group feedback sessions
The most sensitive and difficult facilitation challenge comes when individuals first see their feedback. This is particularly true for
groups that have never experienced 360 feedback before. They need to be shown how to read the report and how to find trends.
Most of all, they need support to get past the initial feeling of discomfort or defensiveness that is a predictable reaction to 360
feedback. Once participants are able to analyze their feedback, they may need help identifying high-priority areas for improvement
and determining why certain scores are low. An experienced, in-house facilitator should guide this process.
Facilitate supplemental feedback sessions
In many cases, people want and need more input from their feedback providers before going ahead with
individual development planning. They may want to meet with their bosses or direct reports.
Members of a team can get together to discuss each other's feedback. These meetings are delicate, because
people do not always react well to direct feedback. The interchanges should be facilitated carefully.
Feedback recipients may need coaching on how to ask for and receive verbal feedback. A skilled
facilitator can make sure the process remains positive, cordial and helpful.
Facilitate planning sessions
Individual Development Planning (IDP) is a stand-alone software program that allows a feedback
recipient to:
| |
review 20/20® scores and comments |
| |
analyze the feedback for strengths and problems |
| |
set goals |
| |
create an individual development plan and monitor progress all on-screen |
IDP is available at no extra charge to everyone in an organization that has purchased the
20/20® Insight GOLD system. Those who have received feedback may want help selecting
specific follow-up activities that will develop them in areas needing improvement.
Planning can be done one-on-one or in a group setting. Often, individual coaching is preferred
over group coaching. Although an individual's manager usually handles this role, the organization
may feel more comfortable with an external consultant to provide this coaching.
