Report Options - Selecting Standard Formats

The screen below is used to select standard report formats in the preferred sequence.
Examples of some of the standard report options follow. Both the 20/20® Insight administration software
and the Demonstration Disk contain a "Sample" file of assessment data, which can be used to print
any of the options, so people can study and discuss them before deciding which ones to use.
Category Summary
This format is designed to:

Identify specific skill categories that a person may want to improve |

Compare individual scores with group and organization averages. |
Norms
Individual averages are compared to group and organization averages to determine which skill categories
a person should try to improve.
Bar Graph
The bars vary according to averages. They permit a quick visual comparison of categories.
Low-rated Categories
Individual category scores are printed highest to lowest. Skill categories that appear relatively
low may become the focus of individual development planning.
Lowest-rated Items
This format is designed to:

Identify behaviors that received the lowest ratings |

Help the rated individual identify a performance trend across skill categories |

Analyze the reasons for low-rated behaviors |
Norms

Anonymous narrative comments let people provide both positive and
constructive feedback about every item in the assessment.

Item Ratings - Performance / Expected
This format is designed to:

Items by Category
All the items within the category are listed, so that a person can determine which behaviors
are the major contributors to a positive or negative performance trend.
Gap
The difference between the performance scores and the "expected performance" scores is shown by the
length of the arrow. A long arrow pointing to the left would indicate that much improvement is needed

Distribution
This display shows the number of people who gave certain ratings, from which a person can detect
the level of agreement among the raters.
Rater Perspectives
This display reveals the average ratings given by each category of rater.
Comments
Rated individuals need and want more than numerical ratings. Anonymous narrative comments let people

Recommendations for Development
This format is designed to:

Item Explanation
This two-paragraph description gives people a common understanding of the behavior and why it
is important.
What Lower Ratings May Mean
This list of possible reasons for a low rating can help a person think about the reasons for a
performance problem.
Developmental Recommendations
This section can be printed for any number of low-rated behaviors. The suggested developmental
activities are based on the research and literature on the subject. A person can begin immediately
to create a development plan and take action to improve.
Recommended Reading
The three books listed here were judged to be the best available treatments on the subject.
Group Category Summary
This format is designed to:

Provide needs assessment data for future training and development programs |
| |
Identify areas of strength and priority areas for improvement at the group level. |
Norms
Group averages can be compared to organization averages to determine which skill categories should
become a priority focus for improvement.
Bar Graph
The bars vary according to averages and are listed from highest to lowest category scores.
They permit a quick visual comparison of categories.
Low-rated Categories
Areas that appear relatively low may become the focus of planning and investment in developmental
programs and resources.
