With 20/20® Insight GOLD, users can design and save customized report formats. This feature
is unique to the 20/20® Insight system, and hundreds of useful formats are possible.
Users create formats by combining any of the following report elements in the desired sequence.
Graph
A graph supplements numerical ratings by expressing them in a visual way. 20/20® Insight lets the
user display either a bar graph or a "gap" graph, which shows the difference between scores, such
as actual performance compared to desired performance.
Sequence
In order to focus on strengths or areas for improvement, users may display item or category scores
from highest to lowest or lowest to highest.
Amount of Data
Users may include all item scores. Or, to make it easier to analyze the data, they can specify
only a certain number of items to be reported.
Type of Data
To focus on broad areas of need, users may want summary scores. They can request displays consisting
only of category scores the averages of all the item scores in each category.
Level of Data
To facilitate individual development planning, report formats can focus on the scores of one person.
To create needs assessment data, reports can show consolidated averages-group, organization, or
multi-organization.
Ranking
People within a group can be ranked by category summary scores. Groups and organizations can also be ranked.
These displays identify people with strong skills, who can serve as coaches or instructors for others.
Such rankings can also identify where to commit time and resources for development in specific areas.
Self-rating
A comparison of the average of rater scores with the self-rating helps a person highlight blind
spots-previously unknown strengths and areas for improvement.
Comparison Rating
A comparison of the primary rating, such as "performance," with another rating, such as "desired
performance," "previous performance," or "importance," helps a person determine if ratings are higher
or lower than certain standards or expectations.
Norms
Comparing a person's primary rating with the average ratings for the group or the whole organization
helps a person understand if a score is relatively strong or weak.
Distribution
If desired, reports can show the number of people who gave specific ratings. This display helps a
person see how many people gave similar ratings. If wide variations occur among raters, the overall
performance score may not be as trustworthy.
Rater Relationships
Scores can be detailed by type of rater, such as manager, peer, direct report and customer. This format
lets people analyze the differences in ratings among different types of raters.
Comments
Anonymous comments related to specific items can help people understand exactly what raters like or do not
like in their performance. These comments typically describe how a specific behavior affects others and what
changes they desire.
Explanation of Items
A two-paragraph explanation of an item can improve the rated individual's understanding of what is being
measured.
Recommendations for Development
20/20 Insight can print a list of possible reasons for a low rating and a number of suggestions
for follow-up developmental action for every low-rated behavior. These tips help a person get
started right away to improve low-rated behaviors. The user selects the number of low-rated
behaviors to print.
Recommended Reading
Three highly-recommended books related to the subject matter of the item can help a person begin
the process of improving knowledge and skill.
