The first step to creating high performance teams is gaining a clear understanding of individual team roles, in the process of working together
toward a common goal.
Research shows that individuals have different approaches to innovation and teamwork. The Team dimensions Profile helps
individuals work from their strengths by identifying their most natural team "role," while giving them added appreciateion for the
contributions of others.
The Team Dimensions Profile identifies five key roles in an innovative, creative team performance:

Creator: Generates original ideas / concepts,
goes beyond the obvious and sees the big picture.
Advancer: Promotes great ideas. Recognizes new directions,
develops ways to promote ideas and moves toward implementation.
Refiner: Challenges and analyzes ideas to detect potential
problems and may hand plans back to Advancer or Creator before handing off tasks to an Executor.
Executor: Lays the groundwork for
implementation manages the details and moves the implementation process to completion.
Facilitator / Flexer: Works throughout the process
to ensure tasks are handed off to the right people at the right time. |
The profile uses the "Z" Process to map the flow of assigning roles, completing tasks,
then "handing off" to the next person on the team. Using the five Team roles in
the "Z Process" gets new teams moving forward quickly and gets current teams unstuck.
