  Achieving Communication Effectiveness


In all organizations, productivity depends on successful communication between customers, sales people, managers, and support staff.

This course trains participants in effective communication techniques thereby opening a channel to dialogue, negotiation, and compromise.

Participants will be trained to function more productively through improved communication skills. More accomplished communicators will work well with others to get tasks done faster with fewer mistakes.

Staff who are skilled communicators are respected because they understand instruction, get their thoughts across, influence others, and stimulate new ideas. As a result, organizational productivity will increase.

Objectives
 
Recognize and understand the essential parts of the communication process
  Assess personal communication style
 

Identify the four communication behaviors:
- passive
- aggressive
- passive / aggressive
- effective
  Understand the effect on others of each style of communication
  Identify communication behaviors in given situations
  Begin to be more open and less defensive in interpersonal relationships
  Add confidence and credibility to communications
  Recognize and begin to overcome barriers to effective message sending

Course Length
An interactive, online course lasting 60 to 90 minutes

System Requirements
  Standard Internet browser, version 4.0 or higher
  Program written entirely in Java which does not require plug-ins
  Server components using standard HTTP protocols
