Supervisory Skill Development
Delegating - Classroom
(formerly titled Delegating Effectively & now includes Assigning Tasks Effectively)
|
For: First-line supervisors / managers and team leaders in both office and industrial / manufacturing locations
Delegating effectively is one of the best ways to become an effective supervisors / manager / team leader.
Many leaders do not delegate, because they:
| |
|
are afraid they will lose their authority |
| |
|
think it actually takes longer to delegate than to do work themselves |
| |
|
are insecure |
| |
|
believe they can not find someone who is competent enough to do the job |
Delegating has been revised and updated to incorporate the latest techniques to help
supervisors, managers, and team leaders learn to delegate effectively. NOTE: Delegating Effectively
(former title Delegating Effectively) was combined with the module titled Assigning Tasks Effectively
-- now called Delegating.
Those who delegate poorly do not motivate or develop team members. Often they give a person responsibility
but no authority. Or they only delegate certain tasks - the ones they do not want to do.
A leader needs to work with individuals to help them develop the skills and experience they need to move
forward. Delegating effectively is an excellent way to individuals for increasingly important roles.

|
