For: Managers / supervisors of all team leaders who are participating in the Supervision Series
training program and upper-level management personnel who can influence the success of the program
This course introduces managers to the content and methodology of the Supervision Series and helps
develop their abilities to maintain and to reinforce the skills acquired by their team leaders.
The program is designed to show how the behavior modeling technique of the Supervision Series works and to
teach managers specific motivational and participative management skills.
Objectives
Managers will learn to:
The importance of participative management to ensure that learned skills are retained and applied on the job
How to identify the types of behavior they should reinforce
Methods for developing, supporting, and reinforcing the skills taught in the Supervision Series
How to effectively use managerial concepts and techniques while coaching team leaders
Course Length and Format
Interactive, 4-hour group workshop designed for 6 to 18 participants
The workshop includes:
Administrator presentations
Readings
Individual exercises
Viewing and discussion of video segments
Practice sessions that give managers the opportunity to develop their coaching skills
Immediate feedback and critique of the team leader’s use of the skills and techniques taught in the workshop
